As the semester winds down at Boise State University, it’s the perfect moment for VERVE Boise residents to slow down, connect, and spread kindness throughout our Treasure Valley community.

From simple acts of giving to festive gatherings and end-of-year celebrations, here’s how we’re embracing the season at VERVE Boise.

Give Back, Spread Joy

The holidays feel even more meaningful when we use our time and energy to brighten someone else’s season. At VERVE Boise, we make giving back simple, social, and genuinely fun — using our shared spaces as the launchpad for community impact.

Angel Tree Donations

Local organizations like the Salvation Army Boise Angel Tree Program make it easy to “adopt” a child and fulfill a wish from their holiday list.

Residents can gather in our lounges or study rooms to wrap gifts, plan donations, or host a mini wrapping party with neighbors — holiday music highly encouraged.

Write Cards for Seniors

Senior living communities throughout Boise — including places like The Cottages, Edgewood Spring Creek, and Valley View Retirement Community — deeply appreciate handwritten holiday cards.

Settle into our clubhouse tables with friends, bring craft supplies, or use the community printer for card templates. A cozy, low-key card-writing night at VERVE Boise goes a long way in spreading joy.

Donate Toys to Local Children’s Hospitals

St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital and St. Alphonsus both accept donations of new toys, blankets, games, and comfort items for pediatric patients throughout the holiday season.

Our lobby and package room make it easy to collect and organize items before drop-off. You can even organize a mini toy drive with your floor, sorority/fraternity friends, or classmates.

Support Local Food Pantries

Boise organizations such as the Boise Rescue Mission, Idaho Foodbank, and City Light Home for Women & Children accept non-perishable food, hygiene items, and winter essentials.

Use our shared spaces to sort donations, pack bags, or host a “Friendsgiving Bring-a-Can” night.

December is the perfect time to slow down and celebrate the community we’ve built at VERVE Boise all year long. Our amenities make it easy to create memories, whether you’re winding down or turning up:
